Salvo is a qualified integrative psychotherapist, having completed a diploma training in integrative transpersonal psychotherapy at CCPE (Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education).
He also has experience and training in working with complex trauma, dissociation and addictions. He works in a creative way and integrates traditional approaches to therapy with more modern neuroscience research.
How psychotherapy can help
Whatever your wound or life struggle, Salvo will offer a calm and professional space to help you navigate through your current circumstances and towards a direction that is true and right for you.
Therapy can help with addressing the legacy of the past that might still be holding you back in the present and by helping you develop more and more of your inner resources and qualities.
Ways of working
Salvo works in a practical way to help you move closer to where you want to be in life. He also works in a collaborative and relational way. He is the kind of therapist that would answer your questions and that would always attempt to be real and genuine in the work together.
Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy means that he can offer a broad variety of approaches and can adapt your therapy to what works best for you. Some of these approaches are Psychodynamic, Person-centred, Gestalt, Body work, Existential, Creative Imagination, CBT and Transpersonal. He also works in a trauma-informed way.
The Transpersonal approach recognises the spiritual dimension of the individual and uses creative tools such as breathing, body-work, sound, dreams, mindfulness, meditation, guided visualisations and active imagination in order to help you develop your inner qualities and achieve your full potential.
Sessions are offered usually on a weekly basis and last 50 minutes. He also offers sessions in English and Italian.
Areas of special interest
A special area of interest of Salvo's is working with complex trauma and dissociation through integrative ego-state therapy and body-based approaches. He has experience with addictions and also works in a residential rehab centre in West London.
Some additional areas of interest include working in a heart-centred compassionate way with the legacy of past traumas, neglect and addictions and also working with LGBT+ clients. Additionally, he also has a special interest in working creatively with the feeling of longing or that something is always missing in one’s life.
What to expect in the first session
This would be an opportunity to get to know each other with no obligations. It is for you to get a feel of whether you would like to work together on an ongoing basis and for the therapist also to understand whether he might be the best person to help you. He will ask you some questions about what has brought you to therapy and about your background and this will be a good time to ask him any questions as well.
More about Salvo
Salvo came to therapy as a second profession after working in the advertising industry for some years. Originally from Sicily, in the south of Italy, he has called London his home for the past 12 years.
